I waited patiently for the Lord; he inclined to me and heard my cry. He drew me up
from the pit of destruction, out of the miry
bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making
my steps secure. (Psalm 40: 1-2)
“ If we're going to find the grace that is written on every page of the Bible, we
must first remember that not all
texts reveal grace in the same way. Sometimes the Bible reveals its truths
about grace through prophecy, but the Bible also instructs us through poetry, history, proverbs, and letters.
The Bible tells the story of God's plan to redeem his people from dangers of a fallen
world. And by looking around. We see the
grace that God provides through rescue, restoration, and redemption. In short,
when we see the terrible, deep hole we are in, we can grab hold of the ladder of grace
that God has provided to lift us out. That ladder is Jesus Christ, who receives everyone who reaches out to him.”
